I do this to myself. I fill my calendar, I say yes to everything, and then I crash and burn. Which leads me to this conversation. It’s a little boring, but it’s necessary. Who doesn’t love spoiling themselves?!

Lately, one way I spoil myself is a shower tea. It’s like a shower beer, but way better. I make sleepytime tea and bring it into the shower. There’s nothing greater and this will change your life.

If a shower tea isn’t your thing (that’s on you!) here are a few ways you can take care of yourself.

I love facemarks, relaxing, and not having any plans. I also love going to the ocean and reconnecting/regrounding myself. But not everyone has access to the beach, so here are some some tips from Pinterest:

  • Exploring your neighborhood
  • YouTube videos
  • Making a popsicle…?
  • Make a vision board
  • FaceTime a loved one
  • Volunteer
  • Create a playlist
  • Take a long bath

Taking time to honor yourself and your body is so important. You can’t pour from an empty cup. I pour, and pour, and pour, and then get frustrated when I’m burnt out.

I find myself doing self-care when I’ve already reached burnout. Had I just slowed down, trusted my instincts, and taken care of me I wouldn’t probably be in that position.

It’s okay to do self-care and take care of yourself.

tl;dr take care of yourself before you reach burnout
